IBM is a leading multinational technology company that specializes in Information Technology products and services, serving clients worldwide. Over the years, the corporation has demonstrated a commitment to making a positive impact, particularly in business and technology ethics.
In 2022, there was a rapid increase in the public adoption of generative AI, which also raised concerns about the possibility of improper use and exploitation by malicious actors.
Urgent action was needed to address the potential risks that could arise from communication professionals in IBM using generative AI, including bias in the generated output, AI hallucinations, deepfakes, impersonation, copyright issues, and data leaks. The key task became to leverage communication as a tool to ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI.
Solution
Audience insight was first gathered.
Newsletters, infographics, posters, images, and visual messaging were created.
A dialogue, also known as a facilitation workshop, was hosted to enable collective decision-making. This was created following a well-detailed plan to meet the needs of IBM.
